Senator Bernie Sanders Hosts ROC Restaurant Workers to Talk One Fair Wage on Facebook Live tomorrow at 12 pm Eastern
Tomorrow at 12 pm, Senator Bernie Sanders will join a group of ROC members who are restaurant workers for an in-depth conversation about the movement for fair wages and workplace conditions in the restaurant industry and beyond. He is broadcasting the panel on Facebook live at www.facebook.com/senatorsanders
Sen. Sanders has been outspoken about his support for One Fair Wage, the elimination of the lower wage for tipped workers. He is even introducing federal legislation proposing One Fair Wage in the Senate next week, together with Congressman Bobby Scott, who is introducing the companion bill in the House of Representatives.
Last week, Sen. Sanders was joined by DNC Chair Tom Perez at a rally in Maine, where workers and their allies are battling to protect One Fair Wage.
As one of America’s leading progressive voices, Senator Sanders’ eagerness to hear directly from America’s restaurant workers sends a powerful message that our the movement for One Fair Wage is growing.
ROC Sues Trump
Last week, ROC United joined a lawsuit against the Trump Administration for violating the foreign emoluments clause of the U.S. Constitution. We are committed to this fight, and we need your support.
Trump’s many conflicts of interest as hotel and restaurant owner put restaurateurs and restaurant workers nationwide at a disadvantage, pushing foreign dignitaries and governments to patronize his establishments over others. The restaurant industry is highly competitive. It is hard enough for workers to make ends meet, or for high road employers and Sanctuary Restaurants to compete while ensuring fair wages and workplace conditions for staff. They simply cannot compete with the President of the United States. They should not have to.
We need a President who believes in fair wage and a fair marketplace. What’s more, we need an administration that follows the Constitution. Click here

The May 1 Strike is on Monday. In just a few days, hundreds of thousands of restaurant workers and their allies will take to the streets in cities across the country. We hope you’ll join us.
ROC will join the strike because the restaurant industry has the lowest-paid jobs in America. We need a restaurant industry in which people of color, immigrants, and women are protected from racism and xenophobia, and in which sexual harassment is not tolerated. We demand a restaurant industry that pays One Fair Wage to all workers, tipped or untipped.
