LOVE THY NEIGHBOR

Take Action to Protect Dreamers Now

Dear Nancy,
We at NETWORK are outraged about this morning’s announcement that the Trump Administration will end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program in six months. This is immoral, unjust, and wildly irresponsible.
The solution now is for Congress to act to make sure DACA recipients — who came to the U.S. as children and whose average age is 26 years old — are protected. A legislative solution has already been introduced in both chambers of Congress. Call Congress now and tell them to pass the bipartisan Dream Act so that Dreamers can live without fear.
Call your Representative: 1-888-496-3502
Call your Senators: 1-888-410-0619
(Call twice to reach both Senators)
Hi, my name is [NAME] and I am a constituent from [CITY/STATE]. I am outraged that President Trump announced the end of DACA today, and I urge you to do everything in your power to protect Dreamers by making sure the Dream Act becomes law. As a member of NETWORK Lobby for Catholic Social Justice, I want to remind you that faith calls us to love our neighbor. All DACA recipients have been in our communities continuously for at least ten years, and deserve to positively contribute and live without fear. Will the [SENATOR/REPRESENTATIVE] do all they can to pass the bipartisan Dream Act, so that DACA recipients gain protection under the law?

This announcement is cruel and outrageous, and we can’t give up. The lives of more than 800,000 DACA recipients and their countless family members are on the line.
Make three important calls TODAY:
Call your Representative (1-888-496-3502), then contact each of your Senators by calling 1-888-410-0619 twice.
Dreamers are here in our communities, and people of faith are united with them to #DefendDACA. Together, we can fight for — and win — protection for Dreamers and their families. Please call your elected officials and then forward this email to your friends and family so they can make their calls too.
In solidarity,
Sister Simone Campbell, SSS
Executive Director
