CONGRESS MUST ACT NOW

Protect DACA & Pass the Dream Act

Dear Nancy,
In 2017, we made phone calls, marched, had meetings, wrote letters, and held vigils to urge Congress to pass legislation to protect young people with Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). While Congress failed to take action to resolve this issue last year, your action worked to secure commitments on both sides of the aisle to take up legislation this month to protect young immigrants.
As we begin the new year, now is the time to remind Members of Congress to keep their promise and pass legislation immediately. Call your Senators to support the Dream Act today! Dial 1-888-410-0619 now. (Call twice to reach both Senators).
Due to congressional inaction since the announcement that DACA, millions of our nation’s young immigrant children are uncertain of their future. Right now more than 1,000 young people a week are losing DACA protection, losing their jobs, losing their security, and could be subject to deportation. We have a new year and new opportunity to share our support for young immigrants in the United States and hold Congress accountable.
Today, let’s call our Senators and urge them to protect our immigrant youth and pass the best legislative solution, the Dream Act, before January 19!
Support the Dream Act today!
Call your Senators: Dial 1-888-410-0619 now
(Call twice to reach both your Senators)

When you call, here’s what you might say:
“As a person of faith and your constituent from [CITY], I ask you to pass the Dream Act now. Because the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program has stopped accepting renewals, more than 700,000 young people will go without the opportunity to work, raise a family, and pursue their dreams. This goes against my faith teaching. I urge you to support the passage of the Dream Act (S.1615/H.R.3440) by January 19.”
NETWORK is committed to making sure the Dream Act becomes law so our nation’s Dreamers can continue to work, study, and live in the United States without fear of deportation. We want this to become law by January 19 – which means Congress has one week left to act. So far, more than 11,000 Dreamers have lost DACA protection and an additional 122 people lose DACA protection every day. This is urgent!
Take five minutes today to support the Dream Act by calling your Senators at 1-888-410-0619!
